Strategic Management of Airport Expansion and Modernization.
Guadalajara International Airport, recognized as one of Mexico’s leading airports in terms of both passenger traffic and cargo handling, undertook a modernization process to meet growing demand and enhance the user experience.
Bovis was selected to support the comprehensive management of some of the most critical projects, with a special focus on maintaining active operations while work was underway.
Our team coordinated more than 336 simultaneous contracts, facing the challenge of harmonizing complex construction projects in an active and highly regulated environment.
Key achievements and scope of work:
Construction and commissioning of a new 3.5 km runway with zero operational disruption.
Expansion and remodeling of passenger terminals, departure lounges, and retail areas.
Development of a new contact apron and remote parking positions.
Comprehensive renovation of roadways, platforms, and vehicular access systems.
Thanks to Bovis’s management, the airport continued to strengthen its position as a strategic hub for passengers and cargo, increasing its operational capacity and improving its connectivity.
The project helped raise the standards for airport modernization in Mexico.
Currently, Bovis manages the Project Management Office (PMO) and the Specialized Technical Supervision (STE) for the 2025–2029 Master Plan in Guadalajara, which includes the construction of the new Terminal 2 building, the Commercial Platform, the Elevated Viaduct, and the airport’s new access roads.
